HT White zirconia disc milling process for dental CAD CAM restorations

Recommended HT White Zirconia Workflow

  1. Design the restoration in CAD software according to the required restoration type and connector design.
  2. Select the correct 98mm disc thickness based on restoration height and nesting requirements.
  3. Mill the restoration using a zirconia-compatible CAM strategy and suitable zirconia milling burs.
  4. Carefully remove the milled restoration from the disc and refine connectors with appropriate instruments.
  5. Apply zirconia-compatible coloring or staining liquid if customized shade matching is required.
  6. Dry the stained restoration completely before sintering.
  7. Sinter according to the recommended zirconia sintering program, with 1530°C as the standard reference temperature for this material.
  8. After complete cooling, check the fit, margins, occlusion, and surface condition.
  9. Finish, stain, glaze, or polish according to the intended laboratory workflow.

HT White vs. Other OnePro Zirconia Series

Choose the zirconia series according to strength requirements, translucency expectations, restoration position, and shade workflow.

Series Strength Translucency Best For
ST 1200 MPa 43% General crowns and bridges
SHT 1000 MPa 47% Balanced strength and improved esthetics
UT 650 MPa 49% Anterior esthetic restorations
3D Pro Multilayer 650–1200 MPa gradient 43–49% gradient Premium esthetic restorations with natural transition

How to Choose the Right Zirconia Disc

  • Choose HT for Strength

Select HT White when posterior strength, bridge reliability, and high-load performance are more important than maximum translucency.

  • Choose White for Custom Shading

Choose a white zirconia base when your laboratory prefers customized staining and glazing workflows after milling.

  • Confirm the Thickness

Select the disc thickness according to restoration height, nesting layout, occlusal clearance, and framework design.

  • Match the Restoration Type

For anterior esthetics, consider SHT, UT, or 3D Pro. For posterior and long-span strength, HT White is usually the stronger choice.

What is HT White Zirconia best used for?

HT White Zirconia is best used for posterior crowns, multi-unit bridges, long-span frameworks, implant-supported restorations, and high-load cases where strength is the main priority.

What is the flexural strength of HT White Zirconia?

HT White Zirconia offers flexural strength up to 1300 MPa, making it suitable for strength-prioritized posterior and bridge restorations.

Is HT White Zirconia suitable for anterior restorations?

HT White can be used when the case design allows, but it is generally better suited for posterior and strength-focused restorations. For higher anterior esthetics, SHT, UT, or 3D Pro zirconia may be more suitable.

Can HT White Zirconia be stained?

Yes. HT White provides a white stainable base that allows customized coloring, staining, and glazing workflows according to the laboratory’s shade requirements.

Is HT White Zirconia a multilayer zirconia?

No. HT White is a white high-strength zirconia disc. It is designed for laboratories that prefer customized staining and glazing workflows after milling and sintering. For natural multilayer shade transitions, you may consider 3D Pro Multilayer, ST Multilayer, SHT Multilayer, or UT Multilayer zirconia.

Does HT White Zirconia require staining and glazing?

HT White is supplied as a white zirconia base. Staining and glazing are recommended when a customized final shade, surface characterization, or improved esthetic result is required.

What is the recommended sintering temperature?

The standard reference sintering temperature for HT White Zirconia is 1530°C. Please follow the recommended sintering program and your furnace manufacturer’s instructions.

What is the linear shrinkage rate?

The linear shrinkage rate is approximately 20–25%. Restorations should be designed and milled with the correct enlargement factor according to the disc batch and CAD/CAM workflow.

Which CAD/CAM systems are compatible?

The 98mm disc format is designed for open 98mm dental CAD/CAM milling systems. Please confirm that your machine holder supports 98mm zirconia discs before ordering.

Which thickness should I choose?

Choose the thickness according to the restoration height, nesting space, bridge design, and required support. Available thicknesses include 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18mm, 20mm, 22mm, and 25mm.

What is the difference between HT White and 3D Pro Zirconia?

HT White is a high-strength white zirconia disc for strength-prioritized restorations and staining workflows. 3D Pro is a multilayer zirconia series designed for more natural shade and translucency transitions.

Can you provide CE and FDA-related documentation?
